Full Day Tour

(5-6 Hours)

Our Historical Island Tour is perfect for visitors who want to see the true St. Maarten- a seamless blend of the rural, colonial past and the metropolitan present.

During the Island Tour, our drivers will show you all the major districts of both the Dutch side and the French Side while walking you through the history that is laced in each town.

The tour will start in Phillipsburg where our drivers will show you the historic great Salt Pond. From there you will make your way to Fort Amsterdam in the Little Bay where the Dutch defended the islands coast from other colonist hundreds of years ago. Here you will also see one of the best panoramic views in St. Maarten/St. Martin.

You then visit Harold Jack's look out point on Cole Bay Hill that overlooks the entire "Over the Hill" basin- Gibb's Bay, Cole Bay, Cay Bay, Simpson Bay and Cupecoy. Enjoy this magnificent panoramic frame before our driver takes you to see Simpson Bay up close.

With dozens of bars, restaurants, night clubs and other businesses, Simpson Bay is poised to become the islands second town. There, you see the world-famous Princess Juliana Airport and Sunset Beach Bar. Our airport is the second busiest in the Caribbean. Sunset Beach Bar next to Maho beach has a uniquely close view of airplanes landing right over your head! This feature alone has made it the Most Famous Beach Bar in the world!

Our drivers then take you through the luxurious Maho Restaurant and Hotel where you will spend an hour at the beach before going to the exclusive Cupecoy district. In Cupecoy, you can see dozens of multi-million-dollar villas in exclusive and mostly gated properties. The former president of The United States of America (Donald Trump) is among the many wealthy owners who have laid claim to this district.

All of this culture, history and fun you will experience before even entering the French Side.

Try not to blink as you cross the symbolic Dutch-French border into, literally, a whole new world! Starting with the upscale lowlands district, our driver shows you the unique blend of people, places and history that make St. Maarten/St. Martin is the best place in the Caribbean to visit.

Enjoy the drive as you are led to Marigot, the capital of the French Side, which is known for the world-famous pastries!

Spend some time shopping or strolling in this peaceful town in a 30 minute rest stop before the tour continues. You'll then head to the hillside villages of Cripple Gate and Friar's Bay, pass Columbia and Rambaud, and to La Savanne, known for its fantastic view of Anguilla in the distance.

Next, is the Quaint Grand Case fishing village which is 2 towns in 1. Grand Case is the dining capital of St. Martin!

Then you will be taken past the regional airfield of L'Esperance Airport through the commercial and industrial Cul-de-Sac district all the way to Orient Bay with its famous Nude Beach. During another 30-minute rest stop you will enjoy the views of Pinel Island, just off the shore, and Flat Island (Tintemarre) in the distance.

The Tour ends with a journey through French Quarter (Quarter d 'Orleans') into Dutch Quarter past the cultural epicurean belvedere border. You are taken through Middle Region, Upper and Lower Princess Quarter and Sucker Garden back to Phillipsburg.

Finally, you will decide whether to shop in town or head back to the cruise ship or hotel.
